The Pangea Textbook Series is a comprehensive curriculum in regenerative design, off-grid systems, and community-scale living. The books are designed to be read in sequence but can also be used independently as technical references for specific systems. Each book includes detailed design guidance, construction methods, worked examples, review questions, and references to further resources.

Book 1: Regenerative Design Primer

The foundation of the series. Introduces the philosophy of regenerative design, the six integrated systems, and the relationships between them. Essential starting point for all students.

Book 2: Site, Land, and Construction

Site analysis methods, solar geometry, earthworks design, permitting for alternative construction, construction management, and building layout. Covers the process from raw land to permitted construction-ready project.

Book 3: Earthship and Natural Building Construction

Complete construction guide for tire walls, adobe, cob, straw bale, hempcrete, can and bottle walls, natural plasters, bond beams, vaulted arches, and roofing systems.

Book 4: Heating and Cooling Buildings

Comprehensive passive solar design: thermal comfort, passive solar principles, insulation, thermal mass, climate-specific strategies for all five climate zones, passive cooling, natural ventilation, and shading.

Book 5: Water Systems

Complete off-grid water system design and construction: rainwater harvesting, first-flush diverters, cistern design and installation, the Water Organizing Module, water filtration, solar water heating, and maintenance.

Book 6: Liquid Waste Water Treatment

Interior and exterior botanical treatment cells, plumbing systems, gWOM and tWOM installation, plant selection for botanical cells, composting, solar toilet construction, and system maintenance.

Book 7: Off-Grid Energy Systems

Load analysis, solar PV design and installation, battery storage systems, charge controllers, inverters, wind energy, community microgrids, and system commissioning.

Book 8: Natural Building Materials and Finishes

Material science and performance data for all natural building materials, detailed construction techniques, plaster systems (earth, lime, and silica), interior finishes, and natural floors.

Book 9: Food Systems and Growing

Greenhouse design, aquaponics, growing in botanical cells, composting and vermicomposting, food forest design, seed saving, and the integration of food production into building and community design.

Book 10: Community Design and Land Development

Community-scale land planning, earthworks design, shared energy and water infrastructure, community governance models, land tenure and ownership structures, and the Pangea community development platform.
